Each SafePrompt agent enforces its license locally, offline. A license specifies an edition, a device limit, and an expiry date, and the agent checks it without needing to call a licensing server every time.
Tamper resistance
License files are cryptographically signed and verified by the agent before anything is enforced. A license can't be edited by hand — for example, to raise the device limit — the agent detects the change and rejects the file. We don't publish the exact verification mechanics here; if you're evaluating this for a security review, contact us directly.
Editions
- Community — 14-day trial, up to 5 devices
- Professional — up to 50 devices, billed monthly
- Enterprise — 200+ devices, custom, sold per contract
Site-locking
Free Trial and Professional licenses default to site-locked — devices checking in are expected to come from the same network (typical for a single-office SMB). This is flagged, not blocked, if a device checks in from an unexpected network. Enterprise defaults unlocked, since managed fleets are commonly spread across branch offices and remote staff.
Renewing or upgrading
From your dashboard's Setup page, click Download SafePrompt again any time — the license issued always reflects your current plan. Upgrade first, then download, and the new license is baked into the installer bundle automatically.
