SafePrompt licensing works by issuing a cryptographically signed license file to each tenant — the agent verifies the signature locally and enforces the device limit and feature set offline, without needing to call a licensing server on every check.
Why this matters
Most software licensing needs a live connection to a vendor's server to validate. SafePrompt's agent doesn't — the signature check happens on the device, so licensing still works if the machine is offline or on a locked-down network.
What a license controls
- Edition — Community, Professional, or Enterprise
- Device limit — 5 / 50 / 200+, enforced per license
- Expiry — 14 days (trial), monthly renewal (Professional), per-contract (Enterprise)
- Feature flags — which detection capabilities are unlocked for that edition
